PRICE
We realize that tons of backyard breeders jumped on the puppy band wagon. We have seen this before. COVID brought the opportunity that breeders put any price on any dog and created a shortage. People also think "real" breeders are driving Mercedes and live in million dollar homes of dogs. We breed dogs because we enjoy it. It is a lot of work. The hours of cleaning, socializing, time off work, food, vets, vaccinations, treated our dogs like yours, treats, beds, vet visits, gas, extra water, electricity, etc. take money. Our dogs may get ill as well. I've spent thousands on a dog myself that ended up passing. That's life. We love our dogs as well. All of these extra cost, including the cost of high end canine family members of our own to produce excellent puppies, are incorporated over time. Our dogs are retired at a young age and retired to be a spoiled prince or princess. These dogs are in high demand as our dogs are kind, trained, and great quality. Yes we have a grandma still that sleeps with us nightly.
OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR CLIENTS
We are also highly educated with children in the Medical field, graduated Law School and a twice published by 23 Biomedical research graduate! We take researching and becoming educated about our dogs seriously. We do not have a puppy farm as we have a combined 63 years of working experience in corporate and the public school system. In addition we have owned hobby farms and the Mrs lived on a working farm as a child. We are not smarter than others, just educated, there is a difference! We respect everyone who contributes and is hard working from minimum wage to millionaires. We have clients of all races, religions, genders, politics, perfect or criminal record (we believe in 2nd chances) and sexual identities. We do draw the line if we know there has been any violence in a persons past of assault or animal abuse. We just can't chance it with our puppies. But we will give you a 2nd chance as a person. We feel all people should be treated with respect and feel safe regardless of your lifestyle. We love people
SECURING YOUR PUPPY
Once your puppy is born then a $500 deposit is required. You must also be approved with our application before a deposit/holding fee is sent. DEPOSITS/HOLDING FEE'S ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Life happens that are unforeseen and beyond our control. If you have placed a deposit on a puppy and the puppy dies, you may choose another puppy if available or I will refund your deposit.....these are things of nature that happen beyond our control. We will not hold a puppy without a deposit. We have had people very upset because they keep asking questions and considering for several days and someone comes in with a deposit on the puppy. They feel we betrayed them. Too many time we may talk to someone for days and never commit. Others maybe a year then they decide. However again WITHOUT a DEPOSIT/HOLDING FEE the pup is not yours. At anytime for any reason if we feel we are not a good fit we hold the right to change our mind about selling our puppy to anyone. There have been a few instances we uncovered we would not be a good match. Most all of our clients are great fits and great parents.
HEALTH
We are not a breeder that touts perfect bionic puppies, I read too much of that garbage on other sites.. They are not BIONIC!!! These are living creatures that we do our best to have the optimal environment for outstanding pups. Our dogs are tested using Paw Prints Canine Health Check (Our Preference) or Wisdom. . These tests are enhanced over time and may add new tests and inform us of changes. Obviously we cannot be responsible for any new testing that could uncover a new gene. We will in those cases inform clients, but in many cases dogs carry one as a carrier but is "not infected." Again R&D takes millions. We like to be transparent and not misleading so we love helping clients understand. There have been many, many, many long lived healthy dogs for decades before these tests. Finally most of us human AND canine friends as we age we develop age related issues, diabetes, bone, cancer, etc. much of that dependent on eating, exercise, work related hardships, like black lung for our wonderful Kentucky coal miners. Most of us don't just fall asleep and die, wish age was that kind. So we ask and will work with you do create the most healthy environment for your canine loved one. We are here for you!
VISITS
If COVID taught anything it is how mobile and remote our society can be. There were record breaking dog purchases when people were sequestered in their homes, etc. We have kept a no on site visit policy because of what COVID has taught. We successfully adopted pups via live stream and answered all questions. We met people at their car, asked them not to get out and we stayed safe. In addition we are once again at the height of PARVO and DISTEMPER season. Living in the country people are notorious for thinking if their dog gets sick run to the local farm store and all will be alright. These diseases are very easy to carry in and destroy an entire property. So for the safety of our pups we do not allow visits. This is a scientifically sound choice and one should question the risk you take getting a pup from breeders so wanting to make cash that puppies and their families health come last. Please see our policy in detail below. We realize some people still feel the need to visit, touch, and pick out their pup. We will not be a good match for you. Thanks for understanding.
What is your visitor's policy? The health of our dogs and puppies is important to us so we take every precaution to protect them. We do not allow home visits without a completed questionnaire. Young puppies don’t have fully developed immune systems and are susceptible to life threatening illnesses that your older dog or other dogs will not be affected, including Parvo and Distemper. When diseases like Parvo strike, they can wipe out a whole litter in a matter of hours. These viral organisms can be carried on your clothes, shoes, door handles, etc. For this reason, we ask that you “visit” us first online rather than in person, so that you may safely see our dogs and watch our puppies grow. We photograph our puppies regularly, at birth, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks. We no longer allow visits. Its 2021 and with all the electronic methods to communicate live there is no reason. We understand some people like to come and interact and we know breeders who do and some who did, not now after having a whole litter of pups wiped out trying to make a sale. If that is you we are not a good match. ONLY people who care enough about their puppies and it's siblings safety versus their personal desire to interact. WE DO NOT WANT any client that would put their personal needs ahead of our puppies or their potential puppy. Please go elsewhere. We apologize if that seems harsh, but there is absolutely no reason for risk. We also absolutely do not support the "hip" things of taking dogs to pet stores, parks, rest areas, vet clinics, kennels, etc. without some isolation and careful actions. We wait in our car until our turn at the vet (YES EVEN BEFORE COVID). We also take disinfectant wipe when we travel and wipe our dogs paws off after using the potty in an out of the way place. Not only do doggy daycare and doggy parks put your pup at risk for death, I know of 3 people with an attacked and killed dog, but viruses, bacteria, STD's including brucellosis can be transmitted and you not know about it until years later. All of our dogs, including any new puppy are screened. We do not allow any dogs, including our relatives, on our property. We maintain a biosafe environment.
The positive side is that you can be assured that when YOUR puppy is born, we will do everything possible to minimize his/her exposure to deadly diseases. We are more than willing to answer any questions at any time regarding your dog in a reasonable time frame. Thank you for helping us protect the health of our puppies, your understanding may have saved your puppy’s life.
