Health Guarantee for Olde World Poodles 2018
1) 48 Hour Health Warranty: This puppy is in good health to the best of my knowledge by my own observation and using a seasoned veterinarian’s for exam and microchip insertion. Buyer has 48 hours to have their new puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian, excluding Saturday & Sunday. Puppies picked up on Friday, must see vet on Monday. Failure to have the puppy checked within these 48 hours voids the guarantees. All vaccines must be administered by a licensed veterinarian ONLY. The breeder holds the right to have the puppy re-examined by their veterinarian to validate. Any additional cosmetic procedures and any vet expenses incurred by the buyer will not be refunded. Seller guarantees against fatal viruses for 48 hours after purchase. These include, but are not limited to, PARVO, DISTEMPER, CORONA. No guarantee on fatal viruses after 48 hours. These are very contagious and can be picked up anywhere. In addition we cannot guarantee your puppy cannot pick up Coccidia, Giardia, worms, ear mites, or kennel cough. These are conditions you vet will look for every year and are very common. It does not signify a serious health issue. These are opportunist’s parasites that adult dogs can often deal with, but stress on puppies can help the parasite reproduce quickly.
2) 2 Year Health Guarantee – Congenial Defect or Death: Puppy is guaranteed against any congenital disease that results in an unfortunate death of the puppy within the first 24 months of life. We cannot guarantee that your puppy will not develop any health problems in the future, just like a pediatrician cannot guarantee that a child will never develop any health problems in the future. These are living creatures. It is ludicrous for someone to say this is a genetic condition when 100% of living beings are genetic. Therefore we guarantee congenial. If the puppy dies then the buyer will pay for a necropsy to ascertain reason for death. These are living creatures. It is ludicrous for someone to say this is a genetic condition when 100% of living beings are genetic. Therefore we guarantee congenial. If the reason is congenital (congenital defects are abnormalities at birth unfound by vets that causes a puppy to die and which are untreatable and mean certain or early death), the breeder will replace the puppy at no additional cost to the buyer. An autopsy examination by an accredited institution set up to do such exams, such as a university such as Texas A&M much accompany the request for a puppy replacement within the first year. Autopsies done by a local veterinarian or vet specialist is not accepted. The owner of the pup will pay the expenses. Shipping and and any vet expenses incurred by the buyer will not be included. Puppy will be replaced from a future litter within 3 yrs, no money will be refunded. The breeder has the option to replace the puppy with a puppy of breeder’s said equal quality. The buyer is responsible for all fees, except price of the puppy. The breeder may offer to replace with another pup from another reputable breeder. Breeder will not replace or refund for any personal reasons, but not limited to, allergies, mortality, landlord’s disapproval, family disagreement or any other problems not related to health, for a puppy’s illness caused by neglect, exposure to weather, injury, choking, poisoning, etc. Breeder does not guarantee for any type hernias, patella luxation, entropion, shot knots or retained testicles. Breeder does not guarantee environmental allergies, food allergies, hypoglycemia, and retained teeth, over or under bites, minor heart murmurs level 1 or 2, or thyroid issues. Dogs do have trouble with bites when baby teeth that do not fall out are not removed, failing to do so cause the other teeth to grow in crooked. All these are very common and not life threatening.
3) Required Lifes Abundance Feeding: Just like in humans we all know that diet contributes just as much to overall health as genetics. After years of recommending large corporate brands, many which have faced recalls due our dismay, we feed our dogs Lifes Abundant dog food. This is a superior system, fresh batch, and survives by producing optimum ingredients for the best price. You may purchase this food via our site. Unfortunately we often hear of people changing foods to what someone else recommends and often these are recalled. Therefore, proof of keeping your puppy on the recommended food for the first 24 months is required for the health guarantee to be valid. By doing so the breeder does guarantee hip (OFA) and eye (CERF) for 24 months. The buyer has the choice to return the dog for a replacement or to accept a 50% credit towards a replacement puppy. It should be noted our breeds have a very high pass rate based on public data. Testing clear does not mean that you will never have a problem with hips or eyes. Just like humans, dogs get old and most likely will die of some complication. Just as in people some dogs will live longer than other. This does not mean one dog is superior to the other, it is just a fact of life.
Note: The breeder cannot guarantee size. The breeder can only estimate the size based of weight and the size of the parents. Puppies could grow larger or stay smaller than projected size, the same as children. Breeder does not guarantee color, coat quality, or reproductive capability or lifespan of puppy. This puppy is PET quality only. Breeder will extend guarantee to 3 years with proof of keeping puppy on Nuvet Vitamins in addition to Lifes Abundant food. We feel there is not better combination. Must use Code 20002 for credit. This puppy is PET quality only.
Years 2-5: After year three and proof of pup being on Nuvet Vitamins and Lifes Abundant we commit to you that if your puppy has any issues causing death, we will issue you the following credit towards a new puppy: 35% of the original puppy price excluding shipping cost and vet fees. Breeder has the right to ask for an opinion from a 2nd vet.
3) Public Exposure: Although you may be tempted to rush your pup to the pet store, parks, etc. to show off your new pup, until they have received all vaccines and rabies, you expose your new baby to unnecessary risks, including having a stranger pet your new pup. Avoid the temptation and show pictures. Doing any of the above before vaccines are completed will void the Health Warranty. As a rule I do not take my dogs out until they are approx 6 months old and then in a zipped doggy buggy and I tell strangers who want to pet my dogs, politely of course, no. You don’t know where their hands have been, especially in big pet stores. Leave your puppy in its crate at your vet visit, remember sick dogs go to the vet too. Parvo and Distemper are very contagious; you can carry it on your shoes, a door knob, etc. Please remember although these little canine friends can almost outrun you, these are babies and are still developing immunities. We also recommend you limit areas outside until they are fully vaccines. Especially if in an unfenced yard, you don't know what ill dog ran through your back yard the night before. Parvo can live in the ground 2 years.
4) Abuse & Neglect: This guarantee is null and void upon any evidence of abuse or neglect. This includes failure to complete vaccinations, worming and puppy checks with a qualified veterinarian. Heartoworm is an absolute requirement. Proof of said maintenance must be furnished upon request of breeder. You have purchased this a pet and family member and it is expected that Buyer will treat with love and kindness.
5) Vaccines: Vaccines must be no less than three weeks apart and no more than four weeks apart for a series of three. Rabies vaccines cannot be administered before 16 weeks of age. Internal flea preventatives should not be used and will void your guarantee. Monthly heartworm preventative is required or it will void your guarantee. Buyer agrees to keep records and record of quality food. Failure to abide by these terms will void the Health Guarantee. Vaccine reactions are not covered by this warranty. Some dogs have allergies to Ivermectin so we highly recommend to use one of the other heartworm medications. There is a test for the gene, but why risk it with so many options out there.
6) Changing Possession: If for any time the Buyer can no longer retain possession of the dog, the Breeder is to be contacted and given the first option to resume full ownership. The price will be mutually agreed upon by both parties. This would consider the costs incurred by the Breeder in caring for the dog and locating to a new home. The dog will be returned with their veterinarian records and all paperwork issued for the dog, including any registration documents. Breeder is always willing to take dog back at no cost to breeder at anytime in their life. Breeder does not want any of their dogs in any shelter or rescue. Breeder must approve new home. Breeder must be contacted when Buyer moves with new contact information.
7) Microchip Registration: Buyer must register the Microchip within 36 hours is and keep records up to date or the Health Warranty is void.
8) Signature or Acceptance of Puppy as signature: This agreement has been entered into by the Breeder (Olde World Poodle) and the Buyer in the state of Texas and the laws of the State of Texas shall determine all the questions pertaining to the construction and validity of this agreement. The parties involved agree that this contract has been executed in residing county of Olde World Poodle’s. All guarantees and replacements are subject to the breeder still breeding Poodles.
